“Whose Town?” carries off major award for design
We’re delighted to announce that Whose Town? carried off the Chairman’s Award for Design at last Week’s Scottish Design Awards.
Whose Town? is an innovative resource for teaching Social Studies developed by Edinburgh City Libraries in partnership with Edinburgh Museums and Galleries and Edinburgh City Archives. It is an interactive digital resource built on the City of Edinburgh’s heritage collections that brings Edinburgh’s history to life. Whose Town? is linked to the Curriculum for Excellence second to fourth level outcomes, and was supported with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Teachers and pupils can access Whose Town? from Glow (the schools’ intranet) and explore the lives of fourteen real people who lived in Edinburgh at different points between 1850 and 1950. (Glow users will need their login and password details to access Whose Town?)
We’ve also made Whose Town? available to a wider audience through Capital Collections.
