Wii got games for grown-ups at Moredun Library

We’re quite into gaming here at Moredun Library, every week we have competitions, tournaments and generally have a great time with a variety of titles from the latest console releases to retro classics.
Up until now they’ve had one thing in common – they have focussed on the under 16s, and with that in mind we thought it was only fair that others got a chance to give games a go.
And so Game Break was launched, a video game series for adults who may not have played games before or don’t get the chance they once did.  It ran as a lunch hour contest so people could come in during their break and try their hand at a variety of games, from sports to arcade and everything in between.  Everyone who entered was added into a prize draw to win a £20 Sainsburys gift voucher.
Throughout the week we had a great time playing tennis, bowling and golf to name just a few. It was fantastic seeing people learn how to use a Wii remote for the first time and over the course of the session increase their skill in such a short space of time.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, but a special well done goes to Douglas Fawcus, 75 who won the prize draw and played an impressive first game of Wii Sports Golf.
If you didn’t get a chance to enter this time, keep an eye on our facebook page for information on our next games series for adults, as it was a blast to do this time and we’ll certainly be looking to run something similar again in the not too distant future!
