Burke, Hare and Knox. An exhibition of paintings, drawings and effigies

“…Alasdair Gray and Joyce Cairns are two of the most individual artists among our contemporaries…” Duncan MacMillan, The Scotsman, April 2012
From the springboard of their mutual reverence for all things numinous, in this life and the next, Mary Archibald and Joyce Gunn Cairns are collaborating again as friends and artists.
On this occasion they are seeking with very diverse media to give voice to the enduring anomaly that is Burke, Hare and Knox, the former a pair who took so many lives for lucrative purposes, the latter who collaborated with their nefarious practices and yet to whom we owe so much of our own physical wellbeing. They hope you enjoy looking at the exhibition as much as they have enjoyed bringing it together.
