This month we are delighted to host an exhibition of photographs by Lorenzo Dalberto.You can see more of Lorenzo’s work up close in the Fine Art Library until 31st May.

I grew up in Marchmont, Edinburgh, and have always had a love of Edinburgh Zoo having visited there countless times as a child.

This month’s Fine Art Library exhibition features new work by Belinda Hough.

Here at Tales of One City we love sharing news of some of the amazing work going on behind the scenes. In Central Library’s Art Library, for example, postgraduate student Riona Campbell is currently working with our collection of artist made books. Riona told us more about herself and the project:

Heart Seeker: Heart Eater is a collaboration between artist and illustrator Caroline List and poet Mairi Campbell-Jack.
Their work is currently on display in Central Library, both in the Art Library and on the main staircase and foyer, and will remain on show until the end of January.

An exhibition of art journals will be displayed in the Art Library from 9-16th September in support of Suicide Awareness Week.  The journals were created by members of The Alma Project, an arts and mental health organisation based at Duncan Place Resource Centre, Leith.

September’s exhibition in the Art Library at Central Library is by Morag Donkin, a final year painting student at Edinburgh College of Art. The exhibition entitled, ‘Drawings and Paintings’, brings together a large selection of her most recent pieces, which make reference to the familiar and the surreal.
