To use on a computer or non-internet enabled ebook reader (except Kindle)

A. Install free software
To read ebooks on your computer or to transfer to an ebook reader you will need to install Adobe Digital Editions on your computer. You will be prompted to authorize it by creating an Adobe ID account - this will require an email address and you to create a password.

 

B. Downloading titles
1. On the Scottish Government ebooks site click on the cover of the book you wish to download

2. Click on the EPUB link

3. Choose to Open with Adobe Digital Editions and click OK

4. The book will open, use the arrow at the bottom of the screen to progress through the book

 

C. Transfer to ebook reader
1. Your ebook will have opened up in Adobe Digital Editions

2. Connect your ebook reader to your computer

3. Within Adobe Digital Editions select the Library view

4. Right-click on the cover of the ebook you want to transfer and choose Copy to Computer/Device

5. Choose the device you want to copy to and it will transfer immediately
