The PressReader app has a built-in Help Centre which can guide you through using it. Access this from the main menu button in the top left-hand corner of the app.

Problem logging in - starting week of 23/09/2019

If you have suddenly been unable to login to the newspaper service this week it is likely that you have been continuing to use an older service called Library PressDisplay. Access to this has finally been withdrawn. Please go to your app store and install the PressReader app or on your computer go to Follow the instuctions on our PressReader instruction pages for how to use this service. If you still can't login, your membership card may have expired - please contact or 0131 242 8047 to renew your membership.

Messages re paying for publications

If you have been using the app at home and start to get messages about paying for magazines, just logout and in again to reactivate your free access. If you have done this and it still asks you to pay for the publications go into Settings, then HotSpots and make sure that the Enable HotSpots option is switched on (button will go green).
