Reviews
There were mixed feelings on the book. There were parts that we didn’t like but there were many positive things we did like. We felt that the story line was good, the interweaving of fact and fiction and the history of New York was fascinating, and there were some exciting sections such as being trapped in the caisson. We felt the ending was difficult to follow in places, somewhat convoluted and weak and that really none of the characters were really likeable, they all had faults and unpleasant aspects of their personalities and most of them were arrogant and highly opinionated.
