Software

uLIBRARY audiobooks can be listened to using software that is already installed on your computer i.e. Windows Media Player, Groove or iTunes. As everyone’s computer is set up differently it is difficult to give instructions that will match your computer exactly. If you are used to downloading audiobooks and playing them on iTunes or Windows Media Player then just do what you usually do.

 Downloading & listening on PC

1. Click to download Part 1 of the book for PC/Windows Media Player and watch the screen to see where the downloads indicator is (usually bottom left of the screen or top right)

2. When finished downloading, click on the downloaded zip file and select to Show in Folder

3. Right click on the file and choose to Extract All and then Extract to save to a folder

4. Double-click on the first part of the book to open up in Windows Media Player (or another pre-installed audio-player such as Groove) and begin to play. You will need to repeat this process when you finish part 1 of the book, to download subsequent parts of the book

Downloading & listening on Mac

Click to download Part 1 of the book for Mac + PC/iTunes (this downloads M4b files to your Mac that will not require “unzipping”). On the latest versions of iTunes, the book will automatically appear in iTunes and start playing. You will need to repeat this process when you finish part 1 of the book, to download subsequent parts of the book

How to return early

On the home page click on My Account and then on the Return button next to the book (this will only work after you have had the book out for 24hours)

How to renew

On the home page click on My Account. Six days before your loan expires, an Extend button will appear beside the book – click on this to renew the book. This will only appear if no other users have reserved the title
